Webservices on Smartphoe problem

Hi all,

I have written a webservice which I am using in my smartphone applicaiton.
I have tried the webservice with a WinForms client and it works time and time
again perfectly. When I include it in my smartphone application, it will
work the first time and return ther query set, however when i try it again i
get the following error :

"Server found request content type to be 'text/html; charset=Windows-1252',
but expected 'text/xml'."

At first I thought it was my Webservice, but by virtue of the fact it works
fine from the web and fine from the WinForms app, I dont see how it can be.
In another twist when I include the service in the project and run it through
the eumulator with "Pass throught" internet, the service works perfectly
everytime.

Am i missing something????

Hi Mike,

The error indicates that the request is mal-formed for a SOAP request. Try
tracing the request on the wire (using trace.axd). You can add a tracing
web service extension to your app and then see the entire request/response
in the trace.axd display. You can find several of these as samples on
gotdotnet.com.

If the error is being thrown by the server, it means the calling app is not
sending the right HTTP header for a SOAP message. If the server is
throwning an error page back to the client, the proxy will display a very
similar error, so it pays to examine the trace to see what is happening on
the wire.

I hope this helps
