Draw a form before starting a thread

When a user clicks a button i open a dialoge windows that should show a nifty
anmation while a thread executes (using the new Backgroundworker). As the
thread works it shows it's progress with entries in a listbox using a
delegate to handle communication between the form and the thread. Here's my
problem. When i call showdialoge from the parent form I start the background
thread in the dialoge box's onload event. I can't the the Form to repaint as
the background thread runs. it just apears after the thread stops.

How can i get the form to keep painting as the backgroundworker works? The
code below runs fine but the form dosn't paint until
Me.BackgroundWorker1.IsBusy = false. I've tried sticking refreshes all over
the place.

Private Sub Dialog1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
Me.BackgroundWorker1.WorkerSupportsCancellation = True
Me.BackgroundWorker1.RunWorkerAsync()
Do While Me.BackgroundWorker1.IsBusy
Application.DoEvents()
Loop
End Sub
