HI,

close all the application which possibly is using MDAC or if possible close
all the application and try again.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem you had, were you able to resolve the
problem? if so, could you share the solution?
I already tried closing all programs that are possibly using MDAC and I
continue to get the error. I even try to install MDAC 2.8 SP 1 in safe mode
and I get the same error.
I'm not sure what else to do, this is driving me crazy.

Thanks for the help.

Petr,
Unfortunately I didn't have any luck solving the problem, as a matter
of fact I tried so many things that my computer end up crashing, which forced
me to reinstall "everything"; it was a real pain in the back. I think the
problem was that I had installed the Express versions of Visual Studio and
SQL Server 2005 before installing VS2005, and that caused the problem. I
installed VS2005 on two other computers without a problem. The only
difference was that they didn't have the Express versions that I mentioned
before.
Anyway, I hope you have better luck than me.
