Retrieve GAL data from exchange server 5.5 and display in asp.net (.aspx) page

My objective is to get the GAL data from Exchange server 5.5 using
ASP.net page or asp page. Its a asp.net application.

Environment details:
Exchange server version: 5.5
LDAP: supports LDAP
Active Directory: does not support active directory

I tried the below methods with no success
Method 1:
Provider = "ADsDSOObject" - I am not sure if this would work without
Active directory, which is not supported by the server but supports
LDAP.

Method2: MAPI
I tried the CDO 1.21 by adding a reference in asp.net project
but got the below error:
[Collaboration Data Objects - [E_FAIL(80004005)]]

Method 3: System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry
(I think this would work only when Active Directory is available)
I get the below error:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Unknown error (0x80005000)
I would appreciate if someone could send me your suggestion and
comments or if possible some sample code.

Thanks in advance,
Krushna
