Distributed applications

Ant
Hi,
I'm just getting into .NET & I'm wondering how you distribute services like
DLL's or exe's with .NET. I figure you don't use MTS anymore. I've heard the
term Web services. Is this the replacement for distributed services? if so,
is it easy to create a web service? Do you need to know ASP to do this or is
that irrelevant?

Many thanks for your help in advance

Ant
