Installation Problem

apologies for the saga...

I have a development PC that I am going to use for developing ASP.NET
applications using VS.NET 2002 Archetect. I want to be able to develop
without needing any resources beyond my own PC (I work in a large company
where the network team may get around to installing a dotnet web server
installed in a few months time. I have a backlog of development tasks that I
want to have completed and ready to go when they finally get around to
getting the new web server running. I also have no administrator rights to
my PC!)

They have tried installing VS.NET 2002 on my PC, but whenever I try to
create a new project, it tries to create the project on our existing
development web server (which is incapable of running dotnet). I get a "the
UNC share does not exist or you do not have access" error. I have tried
pointing the project towards my hard drive, but then I get another error
telling me that the "localhost" isn't happy.

Is it possible to have VS.NET working on a PC, and not having it want to use
any other resource? If so, what elements of the 16 CDs do I need to have
installed? My PC is using W2K Professional OS and already has SQL Server
2000 and Visio 2002 installed.
