ASP.NET 2.0 Release

Hello,
Our company wants to move our ASP applications to ASP.NET. We didn't
use .NET before. I want to ask your opinion:
- is it better to migrate right to ASP.NET 2.0 Beta, i.e. start
developing and wait until the Release version will come and only then
to put it on our public server (we certainly don't want to put Beta on
server),
- or to go for ASP.NET 1 that has been used already for some years and
has a lot of bugs fixed and so we can put it on server right now and
not to wait for the Release.
And the last question, if somebody knows when the Release will come
approximately?
Thank you,
Natalia

Natalia,

I don't think that there should be any reason not to start with 2005.
Normally it will be there in November while there is already this

I hope this helps,

Microsoft has formally announced that VS 2005/ .NET 2.0 will be released
"the week of November 7th, 2005". In my experience, once a formal public
announcement of this type has been made, the deadline will be met.
Not knowing how long it will take you to move your applications, or if those
applications are "mission critical", I agree with Cor. He has provided you
with a link to the VS 2005 Beta 2/ .NET Framework 2.0 Beta 2 "Go Live"
license, which you and decisionmakers in your organization should read
*carefully* before making a decision. The most important caveats are (IMHO)
covered in the section entitled : Please Read: Important Factors to Consider
Before Going Live.
