Greetings,
We have a production website, and within that website we have an 'Admin'
section of the website. Two separate ASP.NET/C# web applications.
Recently when trying to log into the admin portion, we have noticed the page
never loading - the IE globe will literally spin forever.
So we figured we had some rogue infinite loop, memory leak, something
strange, etc. The other web app, the general website - runs perfectly, no
performance hits etc. while this is happening.
So when we log on to the web server, we have tried everything to get the app
unlocked and loaded again. Usually we stop the entire website (includes both
applications), kill the process tree for ASP.NET, restart IIS - but nothing
works. That darn admin web app will still show the spinning globe forever -
no timeouts, no error messages.
The only thing that works is rebooting the server.
Any ideas? I am basically hoping to learn more about the application memory
pool, and why we can not seem to get this one app to fully restart without
having to restart the computer. In the mean time we will hunt for the root
problem.
Thanks for the input,
Cable
