Is there any sample for launching a application from IE? thanks

Just like you can launch word or excel from IE, I want to develop something
so I can launch my app from IE, thanks!

David,

It is today almost impossible to launch any application from a modern
browser.

If the IE page is only used in your own domain, than you can have a look at
impersonate.

See some answers about that in this newsgroup
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...rch+this+group

I hope this helps,

Do you mean when you stream an Excel or Word file to the browser ?

If your application have a registered mime type or even just an associated
extension, it should load automatically your local application with it
(after the usual open/save as dialog)...

thanks.

what about a activex? I have an application, user can download it and run
it, but I want to make the launch seamless, when user go to my webpage and
pick some settings, then the application can be launched there(maybe auto
download and install if the app is not installed yet).

Any suggestion?
