SelectedValue for DropDownList

Hi,

I have a DropDownList, a TextBox and a Button. The DropDownList is
populated from a database and databound and has one of the items set as
the SelectedValue when it loads and seems to work fine. When I change
the selected item in the dropdown and click the button I look at the
TextBox with myTextBox.Text and get the value but
myDropDownList.SelectedValue still gives me the value that was set when
the control loaded, not the value chosen by the user. This seems very
strange. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Thanks,

Chandy
