ASP.NET version question

Sorry folks but this is going to seem like a really silly question i'm sure
but here goes.

Do the different versions of Visual Studio use different versions of ASP.NET.
E.g -
Does Visual Studio .Net - ASP.NET 1.0
Does Visual Studio .Net 2003 - ASP.NET 1.1
Does Visual Studio .Net 2005 - ASP.NET 2.0

Cheers

There is no such thing as a silly question, the answer is yes.

Yes

NOTE: Do not try to work with a framework mismatched to the VS version
either, as it will not work. You can, in theory, tweak the registry to do
this, but the results are less than stellar.
