Problem working with ASP.NET projects

Hi. I have been having a problems working with ASP.NET projects. When I
open a project I receive the following error message.

"Visual Studio .net has detected that the web server is running Asp.net
version 1.0. The web application you are creating or opening can be
configured to be compliant with Asp.net 1.0. However, the application will
not be able to use new features from ASP.NET 1.1."

All of my searching on the net has turned up blank. I have tried many
things to fix this problem. The only thing that I has worked has been to
un-install .NET and IIS then install them again. However this only works for
the first time that I work with the application. As soon as I re-boot my
machine the problems start again.

I have even re-installed windows on 2 different machines numerous times.
The projects work for a while until they randomly start giving this message
again.

I am currently running windows xp professional sp 2.

Is there anyone out there who might be able to help me out?

Thanks Cor,

However I have tried using this tool many times. It does not seem to fix my
problem.

When I run it with -lv it reports v1.1.4322.0
When I run it with -i, -ir or -r it does not solve the problem.

Is there anything else that I can try to get it to work?
