Windows Installer runs every time app starts

Jim
Hello everyone,
I'm programming in VB .Net 2003 standard, my os is WinXP home SP2, using MS
Office 2003 Pro, apps and dev env. are on local machine only.

I've developed several apps that connect to Access databases through Oledb.

Now, everytime I start one of these apps whether it has been installed to my
computer or if it is run from the development environment (VB.Net), the
Windows installer pops up a message box saying
"Windows Installer preparing to install..."

The apps then start after a few seconds with no problems.
Office applications do NOT show the "Preparing to install.." message when
started alone.

Can someone help?
thanks,
Jim
