I am using devenv to build a solution.
The Solution comprises 2 projects :- one C++ and the other a Fortran
project. I created this solution by automatically converting a Visual Studio
version
6 project.
When I build the solution in a Visual Studio .NET workspace, it
builds successfully with no errors in either project.
However, when I build the solution using devenv, I get a Visual Studio crash:-
- "Microsoft Development Environment" error dialog
"Microsoft Development Environment has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
- The Error details states :- "An unhandled exception has been caught by the
VSW exception filter."
The command I use is :-
devenv /rebuild DEBUG "proj1.sln"
The build actually completes successfully with no errors, but after the
build has completed the error dialog pops up.
I have successfully built other similar projects (comprising both C++ and
Fortran) without getting the error.
I am running the following set-up :-
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
Microsoft Development Environment 2003, Version 7.1.3088
Microsoft .NET framework 1.1 Version 1.1.4322
I notice that a (possibly) similar problem has been fixed for C# (see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321435).
(Apologies if anybody has seen this on the vsnet.general board. However, I
have been waiting 1 week for a reply, so I looked around for a more suitable
board.)
