Trouble with Windows Service installer....

All,

Not sure what group to post this to, but I have a service with an
installer which, when I run the installutil app seems to install ok:

Contents of the Service Install Log:

Installing assembly 'XXXXXXXX.
Affected parameters are:
assemblypath = XXXXXXXXX
logfile = XXXXXXX
Committing assembly 'XXXXXXXXXX'.
Affected parameters are:
assemblypath = XXXXXXXXX
logfile = XXXXXXXXservice.InstallLog
Contents of the installutil.log
Running a transacted installation.

Beginning the Install phase of the installation.
See the contents of the log file for the XXXXXXX assembly's progress.
The file is located at XXXXXXXXXXXX

The Install phase completed successfully, and the Commit phase is
beginning.
See the contents of the log file for the XXXXXXXX assembly's progress.
The file is located at XXXXXXXXXX

The Commit phase completed successfully.

The transacted install has completed.
Names hidden to protect the identity of.... etc.

But the service doesn't seem to intall. It doesn't show up in the
services list no matter what I do. Nothing in the event logs to
indicate any error. Just doesn't seem to work.

Any pointers? Can I do this manually without the installUtil app?
Maybe I can get some error reporting if I break down the steps.... etc.
Thanks in advance,
See_Rock_City
