VB.Net app install problem with Win ME Registry

Hi,

"Could not write value DefaultFeature to key
UNKNOWN\Features\E5066F1470625954BB36548E6A4DDC67. Verify that you have
sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel"

I've done a bit of testing and found that on XP this key appears under
HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer but on the ME machine the Installer key is
under HU\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Installer.

It would appear that the installer is not looking in the correct place for
this key - is there anyway to force these keys to be written to HKLM or to
direct it towards HU\.Default - or is this even the problem.

I found a article that seemed similar to the problem I've encountered by
I've tried all sorts of combinations of User profiles and setting but still
keep hitting the same error. (the article was
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238122/en-us)

Does anyone have any clues as to how I get round this (or even what the root
problem is)?

Thank is advance for any replies.
