Retrieving HANDLE from TreeView (VS2003)

Hi,

Although this is in VB.NET, I don't believe it's language specific.

I have an application that has several panes (similar to Visual Studio in
the Solution Explorer - Solution, Search, Dynamic Help, Properties) etc.

One on of my panes there is a TreeView control. I'm reading XML into this
TreeView perfectly - regardless of whether the TreeView is visible or not.

However, I need to obtain the HANDLE of a TreeNode once it's inserted, and
I've discovered that IF THE TREEVIEW IS NOT VISIBLE the handle for the node
is either not created or not returned.

If the TreeView is visible when the HANDLE is requested, a valid HANDLE is
returned.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get around this problem?

Thanks,

Martin Russ
