PLEASE HELP! Sending Faxes via Internet Programmatically??

Ed
Hi there,

I have a very specific problem and hopefully there is a solution out
there for me.

I have a folder with thousands of Excel documents. Each of these
documents has a header with the destination phone number in a specific
cell. I would like to somehow programmatically Fax all these
documents to the appropriate phone number. The folder and the
documents are generated monthly.

Currently, it's a manual process and all the documents must be
printed, and someone has to manually key in the phone number and fax
the document! I know it sounds unbelievable archaic!! That's why I'm
looking for another option.

Does anyone know if there are any Internet Fax services out there that
would support this type of requirement? I'd probably need an API that
would allow me to post the document and the phone number, providing my
user ID and password. There must be someone out there that does this.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Ed,

We use Faxaway (www.faxaway.com). You generate and email and attached the
doc to it, then send it to 55********@faxaway.com where 5555551234 is the
fax number you want it sent to.

You'll have to sign up with them for the service.

Ed,
One of the largest services in the world is Xpedite Systems. They have
an API that will allow you to do just that. Should you desire to bring
this in-house, you migh consider a small fax server that can also be
used to automate faxing throughout your entire organization. Use the
fax server for your office during the day, then use the fax server to
deliver your batch job at night.

Ed,

We have a solution that can do just that....
based on Rightfax and the solution E-connect we will find the faxnumber and
sent it to that number ( also does the same trick for email )

all you have to do is point to the directory.

contact Captaris and ask for JJ ( Netherlands )
