Redistributable problems?

Earlier today I tried to update a Win2K workstation via Windows Update. The
update for .Net Framework 1.1 failed, so I tried to get the redistributable
package from MSDN. When I try to run dotnetfx.exe after downloading I get a
message about it not being a valid Win2K exe file. Is there a problem with
this file, or am I doing something wrong?
