Hi,

..net is basically processor independent - it is optimized and compiled on
the fly.
And it works just well with both Intel and AMD processors.
..net 2 will have support for 64bits, too. (.net 1.x will run on 64 bit
processors in 32 bit mode).

Hi Guhan,

Ya, it will work in AMD Processor especially AMD Athlon 64 Processors.

In fact, you can use following Processors for .NET Framework1.1:

For Client (a computer not working in a server capacity): 90-megahertz (MHz)
Intel Pentium-class processor, or an AMD Opteron, AMD Athlon64 or AMD Athlon
XP processor
For Server (a computer working in a server capacity): 133-MHz Intel
Pentium-class processor, or an AMD Opteron, AMD Athlon64 or AMD Athlon XP
processor

Guhanath,

Your OS is based on the processor and that OS depends if it would work.
Currently is that for Microsoft for Microsoft Net1x and for that created
programs

W98/Me Nt4 + sp6 and all newer NTx versions..

There is a Linux variant as well for .Net (Mono)

I hope this helps?
