windows Installer crash

P: n/a
I'm using VC.NET 2003 (updater says theres no new updates).

I'm just creating a basic installer for a project I'm working on. However,
anytime I attempt to add a ".obj" file, VC.NET crashes. .obj is a 3d model
format we're using.

If we rename the file extension to something else it works fine, but then of
course the file won't be named as the application is expecting it.

Any ideas on a fix or workaround to this?

I don't think anyone can understand you question. VC.NET 2003? VS.NET 2003 I
know but I don't know since when Microsoft took out the VC.NET 2003 and
sell.

Yes, I meant VS.NET 2003. Just making a plain old installer for use locally
on any given computer, to be distributed via a cd.
