.NET Installation works fine...except when running Windows.NET applications...PLEASE HELP!

Hi,

I have a machine which is running Windows Server 2003, IIS and .NET
V1.1. I have been using this machine very well for about 6 months now
for running ASP.NET on IIS and the occasional .NET Console
Application. Now I need to build a Windows Application and it does not
work. I tested it with a simple example which was a single button on a
single form. When I execute the application the computer freezes for
about half a minute when ever the application is in focus.

I even notice the same effect with some of the Windows Applications
that come with the .NET framework (the 'Configure an Application'
under the 'Applications' tab in .NET Configuration has the same
problem)

What should I do to fix this problem? Should I reinstall the .NET
Framework on this machine or is there a fix of somesort?

I really appreciate any help you can provide!

Hi Darren,

I have heard, through the grapevine, that if you have a virus scanner
running when you install the framework, it may prevent some portions of the
windows client interface from working right, especially on .NET Framework
1.1 SP1.

Try disabling your virus checker and then reinstalling the framework.
