help with Dot net

Hello All

I have windows XP Home on my home computer. I have procured the dot net
enterprise architecture version and I would like to install it and learn
ASP.net.

Can anyone tell me how I would go about doing this and what all is required
for it. (Eg Install software, requirements, IIS what versions and if demo
versions are available to act as server and so on)

Please note that I am totally a novice to this environment and would like
detailed instructions from start to finish to set up the environment and
then create simulation pages

On the win 98 machines, we used to get personal webserver which would let us
test dynamic ASP pages - is there a comparable version in win XP home

Thanks

Are there any alternatives to developing with asp.net on XP Home. Also if I
were to create non internet applications can I develop, run and test them on
XP home.

Would it be recommended to install the new .net studio on XP home

Dan
Their certainly is:

1. Check out the Web Matrix
2. Check out Visual C# Express + Web Express.
3. Also, there are plugins for Apache (if your a notice, using Apache
probably isnt the best move).

Rahul,

In addition to what Dan said, you can most certainly run non-asp.net
applications without IIS (i.e. with xp home).
