Please suggest how I can be more efficient - spending lots of time with namespaces, references etc.

Hi, ive just started on a relatively large project - 100+ projects and
assemblies.
I find I spend a lot of time adding namespaces and references, etc to my
projects.
Typically there is a class I want to use, from intellisence in a project
that uses
the class I find the namespace.
Then:

* I add the namespace.

* Get a compilation error, find and add the assembley (We are not supposed
to use project references)

* Intellisence doesn't work because I don't have the projects in my
solution. I add the project with the class to my solution. Sometimes I need
to add projects containing ancestor classes.

Another problem is that I have a method which is usually used somewhere
else, eg in a unit-test. But even if I have the project in the solution
go-to-reference doesn't work very well.
**************************************************
I thought about crating a solution with all projects in it, but you have to
add them one at a time :-(
Should I depend more on the class browser?

We do have XDE and I think Visio, but I don't know if they would be useful,
also I do not want to touch other projects than the ones I am working on?

Is there any help in Beta-versions of the next Visual studio?
(Currently using VS.NET 2003)

Thanks
Olav
