Streaming Video for my site www.etantonio.it

Good Morning,
in my personal site
http://www.etantonio.it/en
I've a section talking about diving where I would want to insert a
video of an immersion in Sharm El Sheikh, it is in DVD format and I
want to arrange streaming of this file providing my site is hosted by
an hosting company like Aruba where I've no problem of space but
problem in installing additional non standard components, so here are
the questions:

1) In which format is better to translate this DVD

2) Is available on the net some C# example about how to arrange this
streaming

3) from my personal point of wiew I think that the best thing could be
to translate it in avi format in a way that anybody can see it with
Windows Media Player, that is a standard tool, I don't like that
client have to install additional tools

4) Do Macromedia Flash produce something like this ???
Many thanks

Antonio,

In my opinion is the wmv format the best for your problem.
However have a look at this pages.

I hope this helps?

I think .asf is a serious contender. It is very easy to encode in using MS
tools, but has the inherent property that it is stream-able without having
to do anything !

for instance, if you put on the web, on a url like
http://www.myhomepage.com/mymovie.asf & open it up on Internet Explorer, it
will start streaming without any sort of software running on the server
(even if it's not a Windows server with IIS ! It acn be a Linux box with
Apache .. you don;t have to do anything to make it stream ! )

Quite possibly wmv will do that also, but I'm not so sure .. it's been a
while since I've played around with this stuff. ASF will surely stream
though. Try it out
