how to arrange MDI forms by docking like panels?

I'm developing an app with several modules an lots of different windows shown
in the fashion of windows explorer / outlook.

To the left is a list view control, to the right the user can view or edit
the data or pictures of the selected item on the left side. I created a list
form, view form, edit form and picture form.

How can i arrange these forms (list form -> dock left, view form -> dock
fill)?
Depending on the active MDI form one covers the other instead of taking
place beside of it. How is this worked out within the VS.NET IDE with all the
dockable tool windows?

Thanks for help...
