After installing dotnet - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, don't work

After installing dotnet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access don't
work. The icons are gone. The system doesn't recognize an excel or
word file. My OS is Win2000 server. Did dotnet overwrite my dlls
or registry OFFICE data? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance
for your help...
