concurrency update problem

I have dataset with an update to a sql stored procedure created using the
data adapter configuration wizard. A text field is bound to a text control.
When a change is made in the text box, the data adapter @new and @orginal
field has the same value containing the new value entered into the textbox.
when it comes time to invoke the stored procedure, the where clause has the
same value as the update clause, which of course causes the failure. So, the
question becomes how is the @original and @new being updated with the textbox
value? How do I fix this problem before I continue to develop the other
forms?
