visual C++.NET: creating regions

hi

I'm writing a program that lets users create boxes, move themaround and link them together. I'm new to visual C++ so i keephaving syntax errors.
The only way i've come up with to implement this is by creating arectangle and use mouse events to detect if its being dragged.Then invalidate and redraw. But i need to create a region(comprising of the picturebox) and exclude portions of it(rectangles existing on the screen) before invalidating.

I tried:
Rectangle a = Rectangle(20,20,50,50);
Region R = Region(pictureBox1);
It won't compile..

I'd really appreciate any help i can get..
thx =O)
