The horror that is ExecutionEngineException

I realize this exception is a last ditch effort by .NET to tell me that
"something has gone horribly wrong" but I'm having a hell of a time
figuring out why I'm getting it. What I know:

1) It happens only when I close my app.

2) It doesn't happen all the time (say, 60% of the time).

3) It seems to be related to a couple of classes that happen to use
Saxsoft's Community Edition Comm control and Windows.Forms.Timer objects.

I'm not so much looking for suggestions as to what could be wrong but how I
can go about pinpointing the source. It seems like VS.NET's debugger is no
help with this one. Any other tools I can turn to?
