Regenerating a Typed DS

I have a typed DS generated by VS. Now in the database a field has been
removed. I know I can manually update the XML schema and remove the field,
but is there any way to either automatically or manually tell VS to refresh
this DS against the current metadata? Rebuilding had not effect.

Thats a bit tedious - surely there is a refresh option? I saw one very deep
hidden reference that VS auto refreshes on build, however I've never seen VS
actually do this.
