General 'marketing' info on dotnet

Hi,

Im looking for some general 'marketing' info on dotnet: how long it
has been in use (i.e first release date), how many companies are using
it, number of .NET developers in the world, popularity of .NET in
different industries, etc.

Ive searched on MS .NET homepage and googled it but surprisingly, such
general info are hard to find.

Any help is welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks,

GC.

GChong,

Try the website: http://www.sql-server-vb-asp.net/. It is the most
..Net-centric resource I have found.
General History:
http://www.dotnetspider.com/Technolo...WhatIsNet.aspx presents an
evolutionary perspective of the .Net Framework, its relation with SUN's
Java.
