Help needed: Animated controls in VS .NET

Hi

I am looking for an effective way to animate windows controls in the
Visual Studio .NET programming environment. I want to attempt to have
the effect of a control sliding onto the screen when a button has been
pressed for example. I have tried to do this by repeatedly changing
the form.Location property (within a thread) until the desired
coordinates was reached but this behavior seems to slow and hogging
the CPU.

Any ideas on how I should approach this matter?

Thanks in advance.
