WebClient.OpenRead questions

I have an UpdateDownloader class I'm working on to download software updates from a file server and report download progress to the user interface. It all works quite well, but I wish I could resume a download that has been broken. A lot of our end users are not so techno-savvy and most likely will have low-end connections, so interruptions are a distinct possibility. Is there any way to get a stream back from the URI that supports seeking? The System.IO.Stream that WebClient.OpenRead returns does not. If I could seek within the stream, I could set my starting point and therefore I would have a way to resume a download where it left off. Any help's appreciated (especially the kind that comes with sample code

Thanks!
