Alan Greenspan: Microsoft Stooge

Did you ever stop to wonder if Alan Greenspan is a Microsoft Stooge.

Stifles competition by hurting the IPO market and technology market to
prevent new companies from taking on Microsoft?

I wouldn't be surprised. Did you catch the 20/20 special on ABC
a few months back about Worldcom? Greenspan was involved in
that whole scam from the beginning. The feds would never bring him
into the mess, though, because he controls the economy and that would
most definitely shake confidence, perhaps enough to cause a partial
collapse.

No.

A company doesn't need to go public in order to sell or develop innovative
technology; Google is a good example.

A significant amount of the stifling of the technology market has come from the
convicted monopolist called Microsoft.

Agreed cousin. Here's the feedback form. I just sent them this message:

http://www.federalreserve.gov/feedback.cfm

I strongly object to Alan Greenspan's misdirected messages regarding
interest rates. The economy is like a sick patient that has only just
regained consciousness. Now, Mr. Greenspan wants to pull out the IVs
and rush him from the hospital before full recovery has occured.

The stock market has already felt the pain of his foolishness. Isn't it
time for the Board to select a Chairman who understands modern
economics, rather than an Industrial Age Gargantuan such as Greensapn?

Shhhh, be careful. I forgot to put the aluminum foil on my head to keep the
alien radio waves from reading my thoughts, so I can't really join in on
your idiotic conspiracy conversations. If he controls everything, then who
controls him? Last time I looked, no one at WorldComm, Microsoft or any
other company could shake the world financial markets just about ever time
they spoke for a few years

This goes into the Godwin category ( foil hat now = use of Nazis in
response ).

If anything from the Establishment is challenged, the Microsoft trolls
throw in UFOs and such.

Well -- who would have thought before the Halloween memo was leaked that
M$ prodded Bay Star into pumping $100 M into SCO as part of a

It's absolutely amazing to see someone who really thinks operating system
preferences are that important to people. 3/4 of the world could care less
what OS they use as long as they can get things done... but oh, if the
'establishment' is challenged, the MS Trolls come out to defend it. I can
hear us now "You know, normally John I think you are a total idiot, I
disagree with your taste in music, you clothes, your profession, your
politics and your religion, but since we both use Windows, i'm going to look
past all of that so we can defend the establishment.

As far as the rest of the nonsense goes...
Right. Well, I know plenty of Linux users you don't think that rambling on
about silly unfounded claims about conspiracies is senseless.

I hate to tell you this, but much of the world doesn't define itself by the
Operating system they use. There are quite a few people who use Windows as
well as linux, don't you think it's a little shortsighted to lumpt them all
in the same category?

So only MS Trolls chime in about conspiracy discussions? And why is it that
people like you think that just because something challenges the
establishment that it somehow has validity? Certainly many things that
challenge the establishment are true and are ridiculed by those in the
establishment, but many things are just plain stupid and should be
ridiculed.

And the whole notion of the 'establishment' is so utterly ridiculous it's
hardly worth mentioning. Who's the establishment? Big companies? The
government? Who? I can assure you that at Microsoft, Oracle, what was
WorldComm, the Government and anything else you want to call establishment,
there are tons of factions that vehemently disagree with other factions.
Let's play spot the college kid without a girlfriend...

Oh, I have to respond to this too.. Well -- who would have thought before the Halloween memo was leaked that
M$ prodded Bay Star into pumping $100 M into SCO as part of a
prescribed practice to try and stop Linux?

Well-- who cares. I seriously couldn't care one bit if MS did that for SCO
or if it happened in reverse. Oh gee, big time companies play hard ball.
Wow, I never would have guessed this goes on in the big leagues.

Does an operating system really matter that much to you?

If that were true, there would be no Linux. Part of the decline of
Microsoft is due to treating the consumer shabbily. Linux respects all.

No, but years ago I recall seeing a commercial for Apple with Greenspan as

The fact that you see a world where people's choice of Operating system
defines who they are says it all.

Darn it, it's you Bailo. I should have known better. Do the guys at COLA

you touting it. I've often wondered if Bill didn't pay you to tout Linux...

Ok. True. It's very obvious to me that there is a difference in the
U.S.A. between a Windos user and a Linux user ( elsewhere, in the other 95
percent of the world, they are all going Linux, but here, where the

Hi John:

I only top post when I reply to Bailo or cross posts from COLA. I've made a
few jokes to John in the past about how Gates and Ballmer could really hurt
Linux just by getting everyone to post in COLA with OE and Top Post. It
turns many of you into rabid slobbering crazies which is pretty funny.

As far as being a Linux advocacy newsgroup, actually , it isn't. It's a
..NET newsgroup, JB cross posted. Nonetheless, if you read the context of my
email, the point still stands.

Here's what I was responding to:

<<If anything from the Establishment is challenged, the Microsoft trolls
throw in UFOs and such.>>
Many people challenge the 'establishment' and many people defend it. The
overwhelming majority of them don't give a hoot about operating systems.
One could have said "If anything from the Establishment is challenged,
there are always those close minded/sheep/whatever that throw in UFO's and
such" That point would have made sense considering the context of
"Establishment" But assuming that someone's choice of OS (or <gasp> you are
one of us who uses many different OS's) defines who they are is absurd. So
only Microsoft Trolls throw ad hominems at those who attack the
'establishment'? Only someone really really divorced from the rest of the
world could think most people even remotely care or that battle lines are
drawn here for most folks. Jew vs. Muslim, that's an area where you might
see radical viewpoint differences. Capitalist vs Socialist, there too.
Republican vs Democrat, sure, you'd often see radical viewpoint differences
on the world here too.

Windows User vs Linux User? There's more disparity and disgareement about
most things among Windows users themselves then there is amongst Windows and
Linux users, by virtue of the sheer number of users.

But if this isn't self evident, if the fact that this was cross posted isn't
obvious, then I'm not probably going to be able to show you the light.

Oh well.

Well I have a few Windows machines, the server running 2003 and a testbox
running Longhorn, I also have a Mac and I also have a RH9 box. I've been
pretty involved in learning and promoting Mono too. So am I a Windows or
Linux user? Is there a difference between me and me?

BTW, I get the whole Bill Gate$ thing or the M$ thing, but what's with
Windos? I'm sure it's a slight but I just don't get it

Sorry about that.
The last thing any OS needs is
you touting it.
That is one of the funniest sentences ever written in the English

language. May I patent it and turn it into a t-shirt?
Yes, but you have to promise to offer a free version and post the blueprints
of the machine that you use to print the t-shirts on your web site. You
also have to call it a t-$hirt. Also be warned that the free t-shirt
foundation may go around sniffing people with the t-$hirts on making sure
that the packets don't look like any known distros. you have to make the
people who you sell the $hirt$ to promise not to punch the free t$hirt
foundation guys if they come up and start sniffing them. (See, I can use
the $ sign instead of an s, do I qualify for a RHCE? - Just kidding guys).
I've often wondered if Bill didn't pay you to tout

Yes, remember not too long ago you were going to get the book on Mono and
..NET from Apress and make all the Mono money instead of me. The darned
things still isn't out. I have a draft coming to me, but I sure wish the
final version would finally get published. Besides, I write PDA software
mainly so I don't think we 'compete' in the same arena. Linux definitely
makes for a great server, but I'm not sure the same can be said for embedded
Linux. Everyone is running their own flavor of it and it makes selling
software a real pain.

Anyway, I always love your posts and as much as I like the term, I can't
bring myself to call you a troll, your posts are usually too good to qualify
as trolling.

Ok. True. It's very obvious to me that there is a difference in the
U.S.A. between a Windos user and a Linux user ( elsewhere, in the other 95
percent of the world, they are all going Linux, but here, where the
brainwashing is, yes, there is a difference ).

Well I have a few Windows machines, the server running 2003 and a testbox
running Longhorn, I also have a Mac and I also have a RH9 box. I've been
pretty involved in learning and promoting Mono too. So am I a Windows or
Linux user? Is there a difference between me and me?

BTW, I get the whole Bill Gate$ thing or the M$ thing, but what's with
Windos? I'm sure it's a slight but I just don't get it
Darn it, it's you Bailo. I should have known better. Do the guys at
COLA
know you are running around touting Linux.
No! Shhhhhh....please keep it quiet. The /guys/ at COLA have no idea I'm
touting Linux. Please *keep* your voice down!

Linux...
He sure didn't pay me to tout Windos.

I thought you worked for him for a while?
I can't think of a more effective way to destroy the competition.

Me neither. That's why I keep at it. Are you destroyed yet? No? Ok, I
will keep posting then.

Viva Top Posting and Outlook express!

just by getting everyone to post in COLA with OE and Top Post. It
turns many of you into rabid slobbering crazies which is pretty funny.
Hey, here's another idea for you. Go to a movie theatre and piss in the
lobby. Imagine the fun you'll have when the patrons pull their kids away
from you and turn into 'rabid slobbering crazies'.
As far as being a Linux advocacy newsgroup, actually , it isn't. It's a
.NET newsgroup, JB cross posted.
..NET runs on Linux, or haven't you heard of mono. Mono is the future
of .NET since Windos is going away.
Nonetheless, if you read the context of
my email, the point still stands.
What *point* you buffoon ??????/

Here's what I was responding to:

<<If anything from the Establishment is challenged, the Microsoft trolls
throw in UFOs and such.>>
They do.
Many people challenge the 'establishment' and many people defend it. The
overwhelming majority of them don't give a hoot about operating systems.
Then why do billions defend and switch to Linux
Windows User vs Linux User? There's more disparity and disgareement about
most things among Windows users themselves then there is amongst Windows
and Linux users, by virtue of the sheer number of users.
The majority of Windos users are sheep who had no active part in being able
to select their OS. Secretary A goes to work and is forced to use Windos
by the IS department -- wheres the choice there?

Linux users are the smartest, most active PC users and therefore in the
forefront. Where the Linux users go, the public goes next as true
advocates take positions of power and *oust* the decrepit and smelly Windos
losers.
But if this isn't self evident, if the fact that this was cross posted
isn't obvious, then I'm not probably going to be able to show you the
light.

Then get the fuck out of here and leave us alone, you twerp.

1) Big deal, it's a frigging Newsgroup post not a Ph.D dissertation
2) Once again, big deal
but since you're such a grammar critic, what about your ghastly misuse of
parallel structure? Can one infer you don't know any better? Petty petty
petty.
3) No true at all.
4) I do it on Purpose when I reply to anything that's cross posted to COLA.
If you read up a few posts, you'll see I already made the crack to Bailo
that if Gates and Ballmer were really trying to hurt Linux, they'd get a
bunch of people to Top Post using OE in COLA. It would throw you guys into
such a tizzy it would cause all Linux development by COLA readers to a halt.
The irony kills me.
5) Sure I do. It was a mistake, I'm sure you've made one or two in your
life
6) Once again, done on purpose when I respond to COLA posts. Read up a few
posts.

That last one is the best. In addition to being an eMVP, I'd bet I have an
notably better command of using and programming emedded Linux than you. But
I guess I should waste my time spell checking and grammar checking my
newsgroup responses to obvious troll attempts instead of learning more than
one OS.
