Threading Problem

Mvk
Hello;

I have a strange threading problem.

Suppose I have the following subs in it:

1) Refresh()

2)

Sub OnEventReceive handles TriggerObject.TriggerEvent
'When I call the Refresh() here it will take 40 seconds!!!!
Refresh()
End Sub

3) A KeyPress eventhandler:

KeyPressEvent(...) Handles KeyPress
'When I call the Refresh() here it will take 5 seconds
Refresh()
End Sub

When I call the Refresh() sub directly in the application (eg when the F5
button is pressed) the sub takes about 5 seconds to complete.

The OnEventReceive sub is triggered by a raiseevent in the TriggerObject.
The refresh-sub is called in this handler. The strange thing is that the
refresh() now takes more than 40 seoncds (!!!) to complete.

I thought this was a typical threading problem. So I have changed the
OnEventReceive to the following:

Sub OnEventReceive handles TriggerObject.TriggerEvent
Dim t As Thread = New Thread(AddressOf Refresh)
t.Start()
End Sub

I was hoping the Refresh() would complete in 5 seconds but it still takes 40
seconds!!!

Can anyone help me with this problem ?

Regards!
Mvk
