We have several web sites written mainly in ASP and have recently purchased
SourceSafe to source control and secure our files.
I am using Visual Interdev 6 and can create a new project to easily develop
our existing ASP pages and it integrates nicely with VSS.
However, we have started to develop some of our new web pages in ASP.NET
using Web Matrix, but there isn't any VSS integration with it.
Do people recommend that we fork out the £800+ (per user??) for Visual
Studio .NET, so that we can easily develop future ASP.NET web pages with
VSS, or do we continue to use the freely available Web Matrix and check out
our file directly with SourceSafe, and VI for our existing ASP stuff?
Also, i've heard that there are difficulties using VS with existing ASP
pages (ie. you have to reimport all fo your ASP files to the new ASP.NET
web application project).
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
