RichTextBox and System.OutOfMemoryException.

Hi All,

I have a problem with RichTextBox, I'm copying a small .jpg 57Kb over it,
and after that I want to get the RTF text.

It raise a System.OutOfMemoryException.

Looking on Internet I found that the control has a bug and Microsoft has a
fix for it.

Base Article is 826981.

The fix is not available for download, I have to call support, an for it
they want to charge me $245.

This is something that I don't understand, I have to pay almost 250 dollars
for apply a service pack to fix his own product??????

How can I get this patch?

Read the KB:

"Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question."

I've never had to use a support incident to get access to these hotfixes.
If you don't actually need the hotfix, and MS has to help diagnose the
error as something on your part, then you will incurr support costs (and
rightfully so, in my opinion).

Also, while I see Microsoft get beat up on this, I've had lots of other
commercial products that simply don't release service packs. Instead, they
release upgrades (which you have to buy ) incorporating both bug fixes and
new features.

How can I get this patch?
