problem installing framework.NET

I have tried to install the visual framework.NET from the
following sources: Visual Studio .NET trial DVD, the
redistributable version from microsoft.com and the
version from windows update. The instalation progress bar
fills up but does not complete and the framework does not
install eventhough through windows task manager the
install shield is still responding. Have left my machine
run for 5 hours but still no install. Tried on another
slower machine runing XP and installed in 5 mins no
problem! Have to unplug the battery from my laptop after too a
Windows won't let me shut down or restart

Running: Windows XP Pro, 256mb RAM, Pentium 4

Hi Berto,

I thought I have seen an answer for this but cannot find it anymore, I am
also not sure who did give it, but it was from someone of the Microsoft
support team.

Maybe you can search for your question in the newsgroup.

microsoft.public.vstudio.setup

If you cannot find it you can ask it again, it is not a very active
newsgroup.

I hope this helps,

Cor
