Hello all,
I suspect I created my own problem as I had a need to install an older
version of MSDN Library so now my .NET Documentation is broken.
When I run :
Start/All Programs/Microsoft Visual Studio .NET/Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
Documentation
All I get is a blank IDE with this text :
The Visual Studio .NET Combined Help Collection
The Visual Studio Combined Help Collection (VSCC) is currently the active
Help collection. It may contain the standard Visual Studio documentation, as
well as documentation for any installed third-party packages or add-ins.
If no topics other than this one appear in your Help system, you have not
installed any documentation. To install documentation, open Add/Remove
Programs in Control Panel and run the setup for the appropriate product.
It used to work just peachy until I installed Visual Studio 6 and MSDN
Libray October 2001. My guess is some registry hack will fix this problem
but all my efforts so far have turned up no results. I am on WinXP Pro and I
DO NOT want to uninstall/reinstall anything to fix this as I am sure the
problem lies deep in the bowels of the registry somewhere. If anyone can
please advise me how to fix this without the standard M$
uninstall/re-install scenerio, I would be forever in thier debt.WIth all the
darn security/patch fixes that go along with an uninstall/re-install, I
would likely need expensive counseling by the time I was done, that is if it
was even a successfull venture.
