Installation of MSVStudio .NET 2003

I am having problems with installing MS .NET Framework 1.1
(one of the prerequisites)

I get the following error message:
Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low
memory (low disk space for swapping file ) or corrupted
Cabinet file.

I don't think it is a memory prob as I have plenty of hard
disk space (24GB) and have plenty of RAM 640MB. What is a
cabinet file? Is the problem with .NET Framework or with
my OS?

I have Windows 2000 Pro. I downloaded Service Pack 4 from
the net before installing since I only had Service Pack 2
on my PC.

Thanks for your replies
