Email: Which 3rd-Party Pakage to Use?

We're developing a series of applications that will rely heavily on
email, both SMTP out and POP3 in.

The facilities included in .NET are rudimentary for outbound email,
nonexistant for inbound.

In the best of all worlds, I'd like to get a powerful and robust toolkit
to facilitate our email needs. No cost and sourcecode available would
also be great, but I'm willing to pay for something good - quality is
way more important than price.

I've found a number of packages, including Abderaware, Aspnetemail,
Chilkat, Easymail, Mabry, and others. There are also some free
components. I have no idea of how good or bad any of these are. There
are free trials, but:
1. I hate wasting time testing stuff that is known to be junk
2. It usually takes a fair bit of time and testing to see if something
is junk

Pricing and licensing covers a wide range - I don't mind paying for
quality, but I also know that there's often zero correlation between
price and quality.

So... can anyone either:
a. Let me know of good or bad experiences with .net email packages
b. Point me someplace (say, a review) that can help?

Thanks!

Al Cohen
