Pluging into existing web apps

Hi,

I need to write an authentication handler that can "plug"
into existing web apps. What I want is to be able to plug
it into any web app without expecting ANY code changes
from the web app.

What I have now is a class that extends HttpApplication
and extends Application_AuthenticateRequest() to add the
appropriate Principal. However, for me to use this would
mean that the web app would need to extend from my
version of HttpApplication.

Even when using delegation, there would have to be an Init
() that the web app would need to call (again a code
change in the web app).

Is there any way to achieve such a phugin concept wherein
no code change is required in the web apps ?

Thanks
Hari
