Form load and re-paint speed

I have a forms application which includes around 300
control on a form (including text boxes, labels, combos,
menus, toolbars, etc). It is very slow to open in the
IDE and when it is running the automatic form repaint is
very slow. As yet there is virtually no functionality
behind the form and no data connections etc.

Although it's not exactly what you're asking for, here are some performance
tips for forms with many controls :

Thanks - I'll try the tips for the initialization.

Any suggestions regarding the general component redraw
speed (such as when you drag another window over)?
