Visual studio .NET installer is launching

I installed visual studio .net on my W2k workstation. Now, whenever I'm
doing a search (F3) or run a particular application, the visual studio .NET
installer is launching and I have to cancel it several times before I can
continue. What should I do to avoid this ?

Thnx for any advice

I get that sometimes as well. The wierd thing is I also get it every
time loading VB6. Something must have confused the MSDN install - I
guess a reinstall could be on the cards!

In W2K, have a look at your (Computer Managment)(Event
Viewer) for any signs of problems, this may or may not point
you in the right direction

I can tell you for certain that it can be easily solved. I can't remember
what I did to solve it but mine did exactly the same thing. I put up with
it for awhile and found instructions, a patch or something that turned it
off and it never did it again. I really I wish I could point you at the
solution but I'll suggest that you spend some time searching Google
(particularly Google Groups) with some keywords related to "VB6 NET
installer" and the like and you'll stumble upon the solution I'm sure.
