Enter VS.Net 2K3 key code

I lost an hard drive and had to reinstall VS.Net 2K2 and then of couse 2K3.
The problem is I think I got the key codes in 2K3 wrong (yes it let me
install). Now I get an error message saying the key code is incorrect. I
have the correct code but is there anyway to enter it without uninstalling
and re-installing the whole thing? It will takes hours.

John

Hello John,

Thanks for your post. As I understand, you are experiencing the problem as
described in the following KB article:

PRB: "Please Enter a Valid Product Key to Use This Product" Error Message
When You Start Visual Studio .NET
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=818532

Based on my experience and research, a full uninstall and reinstall Visual
Studio .NET 2003 is necessary. FYI, I attempted to open registry and change
the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\Registrat ion "PIDkey" with a
correct product key, however, this did not change the error.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any problems or concerns.

Have a nice day!

Well if you do a key search you will find the key code located in three
places in the registry but even if you change all three it does not help :(

But yes uninstalling and reinstalling the product does work especially if
you enter the correct key code the second time...

John
