.NET Migration using SOAP Toolkit

Hello,

I'd like an opinion on the following....

I have a mid sized application that is very critical,
meaning that it can't stop.

This app is built on VB6. It has only one layer. No Data,
No Business, no presentation layer. They are all in one
big layer.

We need to convert this app to .NET.

I was considering to start converting the VB6 code to .NET
WebServices step by step in order to start creating a
framework of our own custom services.

Those Web services were called from the VB6 app through
SOAP toolkit.

What do you think of this aprouch?
Can the SOAP toolkit respond to this type of needs?
Do you recommend another approuch?
