keep the same version number while developing

hi.
im devloping application in vb.net/mc++,the application use a dll that using
tcp/udp (local).

the problem:
the firewall (zone alarm pro) is always alerting me about the same port even
when i authorize this conncetion.

the problem is , the application version number is always changing ,so the
firewall always alerting cause is
"new" program.
at the start, i thought i can solve it throgh the firewall.
but now, im thinking to try and keep the version number the same one.

the question:
is there a way to keep the version number ,the exactly the same number (even
the build ),after each compilation ?

Sure, just set a fixed version number in the AssemblyInfo.cs (or .vb
or whatver) file.
