Cannot register .NET 2003 due to Passport

Requiring a Passport account to register software is an unnecessary
complication.

I have tried using several passport accounts.

When I then try to register .net 2003, I enter the passport login and I am
then asked to login a second time, but there is no response. The "progress"
bar moves a bit and then just gets stuck.

I've deleted the temporary internet files and cookies each time I've closed
a passport account

Any solution to this issue?
