how long does it take...

I purchased a copy of VS.NET 2003 professional and installed it on a
computer to test it and forgot about activation, i want to move it to the
real computer, but of course its activated on the other one. How long does
it take before the activation wears out? I know that windows activation runs
out after 180 days and then you can reinstll it on another one (yes i also
know about calling microsoft) but i am interested in how many days it takes
before VS.NET lets you activate on another system with out any manual help
from MS. thanks!

Hi Brian,

Doesn't your copy of VS.NET 2003 include the end-user license agreement?
Mine does.
It's all there... plain and simple... just a question to read before
complaining on the newsgroups.

You can install and activate the software on up to 3 computers, provided
that you are the only individual using the software.
You are granted the first 5 launches before mandatory activation.

If you installed and activated on the first computer, one activation is
done... no problem, you have two more.

Regards,
Mario

well, the problem is, i installed it on that system, then removed it and
went to the production system and now it says i cant activate it (only
installed on one system ever since removeing from shrink wrapped packadge).
I guess it is time to call up MS's activation line and ask for assistance.
